Friday Favorites

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you're having (if you're reading this Thursday) or had a great time with your loved ones, eating delicious food and most important giving thanks to God for all that He is and has done in our lives.

I love Thanksgiving traditional food, this is the time of the year where i eat like crazy so i have to control myself a little bit! I can't resist cranberry sauce with turkey, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, pecan pie...i'm getting hungry typing this, i'll better stop.

Let me tell you my favorite things from this week:

- Cooking for Thanksgiving!

You can see i won't stop talking about food yet, lol. This time i won't be having dinner at my home but i will be visiting some family and friends and bringing some food as well. I decided to make a homemade delicious cranberry sauce, marshmallow sweet potatoes casserole and corn casserole. (the last one is Frank's favorite).

Our Trip To Asheville Part 4- Billy Graham Library

After relaxing the last day we decided it was time to hit the road and travel to Charlotte Nc, two hours away from Asheville. We wanted to meet the Billy Graham Library, we saw it on tv several times and  it looked like a nice place to visit and know more about the life and ministry of Billy Graham

If you read my other post of this trip maybe you're wondering why we are visiting so many places of Billy Graham, it's only because North Carolina is his home estate and we also wanted to make the Lord the center of our trip and visit places where He is honored.

The Billy Graham Library is a museum dedicated to Billy Graham, his wife Ruth and ministry but the main focus is to glorify God and lead other people to Christ, presenting the Gospel  through the Museum Tour.

Friday Favorites

What a long week this has been for me. These last days was a bit (a lot) stressful but thank God everybody is alive, well and we're together. that's all that matters. Right?

At least not everything was negative, i got some good things to be thankful for.

1-  New Target Ripped Jeans.

Went this week to Target with my mom to buy a gift for a friend and i ended buying the cutest pair of ripped jeans. The color is a beautiful blue and i love the skinny fitting.

Our trip to Asheville Part 3- Café au lait and chocolate truffles

The day dawned cloudy and foggy. From our apartment we could not see the mountains anymore covered by the dense fog. We were tired from all the walking and activities of the past days so today we just wanted to rest and have a relaxing day.
The  weather was perfect to have that kind of day.

After spending the whole morning resting, we decided to go for a walk in the neighborhood ,a.k.a the heart of Asheville's downtown.

First we headed right across the street to the historic Grove Arcade. This building opened in 1929 and it's one of Asheville's architectural jewels, it has the local shops where you can find art pieces, crafts, furnitures and the finest restaurants in this city.

Above the local shops and restaurants, there are offices and residential apartments also. We love the local crafts, art pieces and the rustic (pricey) furniture there.

November Beauty Favorites

Happy Monday! it's been a while since i did a Beauty Favorites.
I  bought some great beauty/makeup products last month that i'm excited to share with you all.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation

My Bare Minerals Ready foundation was running out and was on the search for a paraben free and natural foundation. I loved my Bare Minerals but i was looking for something with a more natural look and not too heavy.

In the beginning i had a love hate relationship with the Tarte airbrush foundation ,the coverage wasn't so good compared to Bare Minerals Ready  and it didn't cover much of the redness in my face.

Many people buy the kabuki brush to apply this foundation but for me the foundation was on the expensive side let alone buying a expensive brush with it. I use a makeup sponge and it works fine for me.

Friday Favorites

TGIF! I thank God for another week that has gone by and for His protection and grace received during these days. Let me tell you about my week:

-Losing weight and exercising

This week i've been feeling more adjusted to regular routines after the vacation and i've been determined to lose all the weight i gained after eating some much chocolate and eating out with Frank. We had just  around the corner of the apt we were staying one of the best Chocolatier in America!!

Ok if you haven't read some of my post you probably don't know how crazy I am about chocolate, so it was literally a danger for me to have a place like that so close to me. We went there for about three times there in a period of 10 days.

The place called "The Chocolate Fetish" is so cozy and charming and you can actually see through a glass how they make their chocolates. Some of their truffles have won prizes nationally. I can't describe how delicious these chocolate are, see my pictures below to have a small idea.

Our Trip to Asheville Part two - Billy Graham Center The Cove

As I promised i will be sharing each week my favorites pictures and different places i visited of my recent  trip to Asheville NC with my husband Frank.

After our tour to the Biltmore Estate, if you missed it, you can read about it here: Our Trip to Asheville Part One- Biltmore Estate , we decided the next day, (even though we were so tired after walking  all day long at Biltmore) to visit Billy Graham Training Center The Cove, it was just minutes away from the apartment we were staying and it was a place Frank and i wanted to visit for so long.

The Cove as they describe in their website is a Christian conference center designed to encouraged, refresh and empower believers who want to grow and deepen their faith.

At that same week, they were having Fernando Ortega's concert for the weekend, one day before we were going back home, we went online to buy the tickets but unfortunately they were already sold out . :-(

Because we couldn't buy any tickets to any of their events that week, we were only allowed to visit their Chapel and meditation walk, (located at the lower part of the mountain). Up at the top is where they have their amazing buffet, Inn, Events and the most unbelievable view of NC mountains but only people who are attending their events can go there.
